CloroxPro's Commitment

CloroxPro believes that clean means everything in the places that matter most. From hospitals to classrooms, offices and restaurants, we are committed to meeting the demands of cleaning professionals by delivering quality products and solutions that create healthy spaces, all while reducing our impact on the environment.

At The Clorox Company, our purpose is to champion people to be well and thrive every single day. This guides us to pursue innovative ways to meet our customers’ needs and address the planet’s pressing environmental challenges with a focus on Healthy Lives, a Clean World and Thriving Communities. These pillars are the framework for how Clorox and CloroxPro are integrating ESG goals within a long-term business strategy to unlock stakeholder value and help people thrive in a more sustainable and inclusive world.

Healthy Lives

Improving people’s health and well-being starts with responsible product stewardship and taking progressive actions to enhance best practices in the professional cleaning industry.

CloroxPro is committed to enhancing the sustainability of our products by focusing on ingredient transparency and earning third-party green certifications across our portfolio.

Ingredient Transparency — We are proud of our long-standing commitment to ingredient transparency and responsible chemical management by publishing ingredients used in our products via SmartLabel, as well as compiling and publishing a list of restricted substances that we do not use in our products, to reinforce confidence in our cleaning solutions.

Third-Party Certifications — In 2022, CloroxPro introduced Clorox EcoClean™, a new line of naturally-derived products that clean and disinfect with EPA Design for the Environment (DfE) and Safer Choice-certified ingredients. Clorox EcoClean™ Disinfecting Cleaner works as well as traditional disinfectants, killing 99.9% of illness-causing germs in 2 minutes or less. Furthermore, the lactic-acid based disinfectant is EPA DfE-certified and formulated without bleach, alcohol, phosphate or quats. Clorox EcoClean™ All-Purpose and Glass Cleaners are EPA Safer Choice and USDA Biobased Certified and made with 99% and 94% plant-based cleaning ingredients, respectively.

In addition to these EPA certifications for EcoClean, The Clorox Company also received multiple sustainability-related recognitions in 2023:

Lastly, we are participating in the Chemical Footprint Project to assess and report the footprint of our products and are committed to reducing that footprint.

Clean World

Cutting emissions and reducing plastic and other waste within the professional cleaning industry starts within our own operations and continues through a product’s life cycle.

We are also focused on reducing our impact upstream with less virgin plastic and more post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic in our packaging, and downstream with recyclable, reusable or compostable packaging, in alignment with The Clorox Company’s goal to reduce virgin plastic in our supply chain by 50% by 2030.

As of 2024, more than 75% of CloroxPro product packaging is recyclable based on Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s definition of recyclable packaging and 100% of products have a How2Recycle label on packaging for clear and transparent recycling information. All CloroxPro® wipes canisters and most of our spray bottles are made with 25% post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic.1

Recently, The Clorox Company and CloroxPro converted all Pine-Sol® Multi-Purpose Cleaners to citric-acid based, concentrated formulas. Now, Pine-Sol® Multi-Purpose cleaners:

    • Clean 5X better2
    • Are twice as strong, requiring ½ as much solution to clean
    • Are in 50% smaller bottles3
    • Use 30% less plastic4
    • Are made with 50% post-consumer recycled plastic

Thriving Communities

Throughout our history, we’ve always believed that our company is only as strong as the communities around us. CloroxPro enables our customers and their patrons to thrive by focusing on actions that protect their well-being. This commitment has manifested in many ways, including providing disaster relief assistance, partnering with industry groups to remain at the forefront of public health issues and supporting those on the frontlines, and educating our customers on how to properly clean for health in shared spaces.

Here are some recent examples of how we’ve helped communities thrive:

      • • Hurricane Cleanup: In the wake of the horrific Atlanta hurricane season of 2021–2022, CloroxPro provided a multi-million-dollar product donation to Convoy of Hope to help with recovery efforts and disaster relief across several U.S. states. CloroxPro’s donation, along with shipping and distribution services from Convoy of Hope, helped recipients address cleaning, disinfection and mold remediation efforts that are critical in the aftermath of hurricanes and other natural disasters.

      • • Community Volunteering: Every year, the CloroxPro team spends hours volunteering at the Alameda County Food Bank, sorting and preparing produce to help bring fresh, nutritious food to the community surrounding our company headquarters in Oakland, California.

      • • Healthcare Donations: In 2022, Clorox Healthcare made monetary and product donations to a small medical clinic in rural Tennessee to aide in facility upgrades essential to continue providing life-saving care to local residents.

      • • Healthcare Scholarships: Since 2021, Clorox Healthcare has awarded scholarships to Infection Preventionists working in underserved communities to attend the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) annual conference. This educational event helps them acquire scientific insights in infection prevention and control, create peer-to-peer connections from leaders in the field, and gain exposure to the latest products and technologies.

  • • Best-in-Class Educational Support: The pandemic raised public awareness of how illness-causing germs spread, resulting in heightened expectations around cleaning and disinfecting facilities. However, with ongoing labor, time and budget constraints, organizations face challenges providing the right training to both new and existing cleaning professionals. To help answer this need, in 2021 CloroxPro launched the CloroxPro HealthyClean® learning platform. HealthyClean offers the first and only third-party validated certificate courses specifically designed for commercial cleaners and managers that are accredited by ANSI (American National Standards Institute) National Accreditation Board. To receive an ANAB accreditation, a certificate program must meet rigorous global standards set for design, delivery and outcomes and indicates the training courses meet the highest levels for quality and comprehension. CloroxPro HealthyClean training teaches cleaning professionals how to clean for health – effectively, efficiently and safely — to help better protect public health in shared spaces.
